About CVS:

 

CVS Training & Development was originally formed in 1999 to service the human resource and training needs of retail and wholesale mortgage banking entities. CVS Training & Development was founded by Cary Valentine who sold his own successful Midwestern mortgage banking firm to a Kansas Bank holding company in 1999. In the last 7 years, CVS has branched out into organizational development consulting in multiple industries including, finance, insurance, investment, academia, marketing firms and many others.

 

Cary’s formal educational background includes secondary and advanced degree study in the components of social psychology, organizational development psychology, leadership, and conflict resolution. Other members of the CVS faculty have similar educational and professional backgrounds in the topic's they teach.

Gone are the days of yesteryear where a controlling and coercive management style could stomp out social problems within an organization. Demographic and economic changes now require that managers not only negotiate change with their staff, but help them to negotiate with each other. Sadly, many management development programs fail to show managers exactly how to mediate between employees. Current trends toward downsizing, flatter hierarchies, teams, quality, and multiple responsibilities are intensifying the interdependency between employees. Most organizations inadequately equip their staff to effectively negotiate work relationships in these challenging times and conflict resolution skills tend to surface as the greatest skill deficit.
